Related Thinkers — A Map of Adjacent Work

Researchers and pioneers whose work overlaps the Coherence framework, organised by methodological tier — peer-reviewed, qualified outsiders, and conceptual pioneers.

How to read this map

The Coherence framework did not arise in a vacuum. It draws on three distinct tiers of prior work:

Citing Layer 3 is not an argument from authority. The point is methodological transparency: which ideas the framework borrows, and from whom. Layer 1 is what the framework can lean on for evidence; Layer 3 is what made the framework conceivable.

Layer 1 — Peer-reviewed, uncontroversial

Layer 1 #peer-reviewed#mainstream

Fritz-Albert Popp (1938–2018)

Work: Biophotons — coherent light emission from cells. Key publications: Cell Biophysics (Springer, 1984–2001). Coherence link: Cells communicate via coherent light. In Spectrum language: biological systems are oscillators that exchange information via frequency emission. Loss of coherence correlates with disease — desynchronization as pathology.

Robert O. Becker (1923–2008)

Work: The Body Electric — bio-electricity and tissue regeneration. Publications: Science, Nature. Coherence link: The body has DC bio-electric fields — low-frequency standing waves. Bone is a piezo-electric transducer. The whole organism behaves as an oscillating system.

HeartMath Institute (1991–)

Work: Heart-rhythm coherence and HRV research. Publications: American Journal of Cardiology and others. Coherence link: The heart as a central oscillator. The heart’s electromagnetic field is approximately 100× stronger than the brain’s. A coherent HRV rhythm modulates the surrounding biological field.

Richard Davidson & Antoine Lutz

Work: Meditation and gamma synchronization. Key paper: Lutz, Greischar, Rawlings, Ricard, Davidson, PNAS 101, 16369–16373 (2004)Long-term meditators self-induce high-amplitude gamma synchrony during mental practice. Coherence link: Long-term meditation produces elevated gamma activity (25–100 Hz). In Spectrum language: conscious tuning widens the resonance window.

W.O. Schumann (1888–1974)

Work: Schumann resonance — Earth–ionosphere cavity at 7.83 Hz. Publication: Zeitschrift für Naturforschung (1952). Coherence link: The Earth–ionosphere cavity acts as a resonator. The fundamental at 7.83 Hz overlaps with the alpha–theta boundary in human EEG. The Spectrum reading: biological oscillators resonate against a planetary fundamental.

Asier Marzo et al. (Bristol)

Work: Single-source acoustic levitation. Publication: Marzo et al., Nature Communications 6, 8661 (2015)Holographic acoustic elements for manipulation of levitated objects. Coherence link: Direct evidence that acoustic frequency fields can manipulate matter without contact. Scale-principle reference for resonance-based manipulation across many orders of magnitude.

Johnjoe McFadden

Work: CEMI theory — Conscious Electromagnetic Information field. Publications: Journal of Consciousness Studies 9, 23–50 (2002); reformulated NeuroQuantology 5, 262–270 (2007). Coherence link: Consciousness as the brain’s coherent EM field. The strongest peer-reviewed bridge between electromagnetism and conscious experience. Minority position within consciousness studies, but explicitly falsifiable.

H.B.G. Casimir (1909–2000)

Work: Casimir effect (predicted 1948; measured 1997). Publications: Casimir, Proc. K. Ned. Akad. Wet. 51, 793 (1948); direct measurement Lamoreaux, Phys. Rev. Lett. 78, 5–8 (1997). Coherence link: The quantum vacuum is not empty but energetically active. Direct empirical anchor for the framework’s “0 Hz = pure potential, not nothing” claim.

Layer 2 — Qualified researchers outside the mainstream consensus

Layer 2 #edge-of-mainstream#qualified-but-contested

Henry C. Monteith Ph.D.

Background: Sandia National Laboratories, engineering physics. Work: Consciousness and Modern Theoretical Physics. Coherence link: EM and consciousness from a solid engineering background. One of relatively few mainstream-credentialed researchers who explicitly makes this bridge.

Moray B. King

Background: Engineer, ZPE researcher. Work: Tapping the Zero-Point Energy (1989/2002). Coherence link: Direct lineage from T.H. Moray → quantum vacuum → zero-point energy. In Spectrum language: the vacuum (0 Hz) is not empty but a low-energy ground state.

Glen Rein Ph.D.

Background: Biochemistry, bio-electromagnetism. Work: Effects of intention on DNA conformation. Coherence link: Biological systems respond to coherent EM signals. A bridge between consciousness and measurable biological effects.

Rupert Till & Bruno Fazenda

Publication: Journal of the Acoustical Society of America (2012). Work: Acoustic properties of Stonehenge. Coherence link: Megalithic sites as acoustic resonance chambers — a peer-reviewed bridge into archaeo-acoustic interpretation. Note the adjacent Wolfe/Swanson/Till 2020 work on the Hypogeum: Journal of Archaeological Science: Reports 34, 102623 (2020).

Vic Tandy & Tony Lawrence

Publication: Journal of the Society for Psychical Research (1998). Work: Infrasound and perception. Coherence link: Frequencies below the human hearing threshold influence perception and emotion — unconscious frequency modulation.

Layer 3 — Conceptual explorers and historical pioneers

Layer 3 #historical#conceptual#pre-falsifiable

Nikola Tesla (1856–1943)

Often-quoted line: “If you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency, and vibration.” Coherence link: Primary stylistic inspiration. Tesla’s worldview was built on frequency as foundational — the same starting point as the Spectrum.

T.H. Moray (1892–1965)

Work: The Sea of Energy in Which the Earth Floats (1960). Coherence link: Vacuum as an energy ocean = Spectrum 0 Hz fundamental. Moray claimed to extract energy from the vacuum — conceptually adjacent to zero-point energy, but the experimental claims remain unreplicated.

Itzhak Bentov (1923–1979)

Work: Stalking the Wild Pendulum (1977). Coherence link: The closest conceptual relative. Bentov treats consciousness as an oscillator, describes heart–brain synchronization at roughly 7 Hz, and reads subjective time as an information-density variable. Bentov and the Coherence framework describe the same end-point from opposite directions: Bentov from consciousness outward, the Spectrum from physics inward.

Edward Leedskalnin (1887–1951)

Work: Magnetic Current (1945); the Coral Castle structures. Coherence link: Empirical knowledge of magnetism and resonance. Constructed monumental stone structures alone — method undocumented but consistent with acoustic / magnetic manipulation hypotheses. Note: the Coral Castle weight-balance hypothesis is well-established mainstream physics and is not a Coherence-specific claim.

Richard Feynman (1918–1988)

Work: Path integral, QED. Coherence link: Feynman’s path integral = sum over all paths = in Spectrum language: a Fourier integral over all frequency components. Feynman diagrams as modulation schemes.

Rodney Collin (1911–1956)

Work: The Theory of Celestial Influence (1954) — the periodic table as seven musical octaves. Background: Student of P.D. Ouspensky (Gurdjieff school). Not a physicist. Coherence link: Collin proposed that the periodic table is structured as seven successive octaves, with noble gases acting as octave-closers — analogous to the octave’s dominant note resolving to silence before the pattern repeats. In standard quantum mechanics, noble gases are closed electron-shell configurations — the waviest possible standing-wave closure for each shell. Collin’s octave model is philosophically derived; the physics is Schrödinger 1926. The convergence is the point: independent observers arrived at the same structural reading via completely different routes. Caution: Collin is L3. His framework is esoteric-philosophical, not scientific. Do not cite Collin as evidence — cite him as a historical convergence marker alongside de Broglie and Schrödinger.

Louis de Broglie (1892–1987)

Work: Matter as wave (1924, Nobel Prize 1929). Coherence link: Wavelength ∝ 1/mass — the direct precursor of the Spectrum mass-frequency identity.

Hans Jenny (1904–1972)

Work: Cymatics (1967). Coherence link: Frequency creates structure — sand on a vibrating plate forms geometric patterns. A standing wave is a frozen oscillation pattern; in Spectrum language, a proto-mass.

Jason Padgett (1966–)

Work: Acquired savant — developed synaesthesia and geometric perception after a brain trauma in 2002. Author of Struck by Genius (2014). Runs YouTube channel @JASONQUANTUM1 (523 videos as of 2026-05-06). Personal framework: Quantum Information Holography (QIH). Coherence link: Padgett independently arrives at several claims central to the Spectrum — most notably: (a) mass as a clock (f = mc²/h, the Compton frequency derived from E=hf and E=mc²); (b) the periodic table as a harmonic scale where each element is a standing-wave configuration; (c) cymatics as the visual signature of quantum standing-wave projection; (d) lightspeed as a rotation of a fixed-magnitude spacetime vector — vx = c·cos(θ), vy = c·sin(θ) — framed as “the universe’s tick rate” (2026 video). These are not Padgett’s inventions — they are established physics (de Broglie 1924, Schrödinger 1926, Compton 1923, Minkowski 1908, Epstein 1985). His value as a convergence marker is that he arrives there via pure pattern-recognition, without academic training, which makes the convergence less likely to be derivation. Caution: Padgett is L3. QIH is not a peer-reviewed framework. His intuitions point toward real physics but are not themselves evidence. Use Padgett as a convergence marker — never as a primary citation. Always pair any Padgett claim with its L1 primary source.

Helix and chirality — added 2026-04-03

Naaman & Waldeck — CISS effect

Publication: Naaman & Waldeck, J. Phys. Chem. Lett. 3, 2178–2187 (2012) — the foundational CISS (Chirality-Induced Spin Selectivity) paper. Coherence link: Strongest peer-reviewed evidence that chirality acts as a physical filter. In Spectrum language: handedness determines which helix waves couple.

Georges Lakhovsky (1869–1942)

Work: The Secret of Life (1929). Coherence link: Cells as oscillators with characteristic resonance frequencies. A precursor of the idea that DNA is a carrier wave.

Viktor Schauberger (1885–1958)

Work: Implosion-flow research; water and energy spirals. Coherence link: Observed that efficient energy transfer in nature uses spirals and helixes — implosion rather than explosion. Empirical observations without modern theoretical formalism.

Methodological note

This page is not an argument from authority. The names above are the intellectual lineage that made the Coherence framework conceivable. The framework’s actual claims must be tested on their own evidence, not inherited from the standing of past thinkers.

Especially Layer 3 names are listed because they prefigure aspects of the framework, not because their conclusions are proven. Treat the layering as a credibility tier, not a hierarchy of correctness.
